Real backdrops.
Real light.
By the hour.
A pro photo studio in Sunset Park — 10-foot ceilings, swappable seamless backdrops in White, Grey, Green, and Black, plus a Nanlite LED kit pre-rigged on the floor. Walk in with a camera and a client; walk out with the frames.

Built for the portrait, not the loft.
Most photo studios in New York are loft conversions — one outlet, a folded-up paper roll in the corner, and a landlord who doesn't want you here past 6 PM. Portrait Studio is a real photo room, bookable by the hour.
Lit, ready.
Three Nanlite bi-color LEDs on stands (2× FS-300B + 1× FS-60B), a 36” softbox + grid, a convertible umbrella, fresnel lens, and 2 C-stands waiting on the floor. Most days you can be lit and shooting in 15 minutes.
Backdrops, swappable.
White hangs as standard — included with every booking. Grey, Green, or Black swap in for $30 (Black needs 24-hour notice). 107″ wide rolls on a wall-mounted Impact Varipole rig. No paper to load in.
Brooklyn light.
White-painted wood floor that bounces clean. Daylight through industrial windows on the south side, killable when you need the LEDs to read true. The room you'll wish your apartment had.
From walk-in to frame.

Portrait Studio is a room-in-room sound-isolated photo space, with seamless backdrops, the Nanlite kit, and a couch + chairs for talent. Tour the floor to see the light at the time of day you'd shoot.
The layout.
A purpose-built photo room with 10-foot ceilings, room-in-room sound isolation, a lockable door, and a wall-mounted seamless backdrop rig. Eight 110A outlets so you can plug in everything you need. Floor plan available on tour.

What's on the floor.
A full Nanlite lighting kit + modifiers + backdrop system are included with every booking. Backdrop color swaps and a few specialty add-ons available from the front desk — bring your camera, not the rest.
Bring your own camera, lenses, and any strobes you prefer over LEDs. Eight outlets accommodate a full Profoto / Godox rig. A more detailed equipment sheet is at the front desk.
Pay for the room, not the lease.
Four ways to book. All include the Nanlite kit, the modifiers, the C-stands, and the White backdrop. Backdrop color swaps and any equipment add-ons settle with the front desk at end of session.

What gets shot here.
A working snapshot of the calendar — the kind of one-hour, half-day, and lookbook work the room handles best.
Headshots
Founder, actor, agency, LinkedIn. One backdrop, one chair, one hour. White is the safe pick; Black reads dramatic.
Brand portraits
Founder + product in one half-day. Swap White to Grey for the cover shot, hand off the same key + fill to your retoucher.
Lookbook + product
Solo stylist or two-person team. Full day covers a 100-SKU run with wardrobe swaps; the white floor reads clean every frame.
Editorial portraits
Magazine, agency reels, casting tape. The convertible umbrella + fresnel make this room read editorial out of the box.
From light-check to wrap.
A typical 2-hour shoot block — photographer, talent, one assistant — built from the last twelve months of bookings. Your day will read different; the room runs the same.
Arrival + setup
Front desk meets you at the elevator. Studio door is open, White backdrop is hung, the Nanlite kit is on the floor. Drop bags, plug in laptop, walk the room.
Light check
Pull the key, set the fill, throw the umbrella. Test a quick frame at the couch and at the backdrop — most setups land in under 15 minutes.
First set rolling
Talent arrives, lockable door closes, you're shooting. The room is room-in-room sound isolated — quiet enough for direction without raising your voice.
Backdrop swap / wardrobe
Front desk swaps White to Grey (or Green / Black) for $30. Talent uses the Change Room (Beauty / General) for wardrobe; you re-light during the gap.
Second set rolling
New backdrop, same kit, second look. Same key + fill works — the LEDs are bi-color, the modifiers absorb whatever color the paper throws.
Review + selects
Plug a monitor into your laptop, scroll through. Reshoot anything that needs it while the room is still set. The lockable door means you don't need to break down to step out for coffee.
Wrap + handoff
Reset the room, pack the camera, end-of-day card runs. Receipts email before you're back to the train.

Walk the room. See the light.
Portrait Studio is best understood standing in it — the light at the time of day you'd shoot, the floor under your tripod, the rig within reach. Book a 30-minute walkthrough; we'll show you the kit and the backdrops in person.
