Is Flex really free to join?
Yes. There is no monthly fee, no signup fee, no minimum spend. You only pay for the hours you book. The reason it's free: members who book a few hours and like the room tend to come back, and we'd rather earn your booking than charge you for the privilege of considering us.
How do I know which tier is right for me?
Most members start on Flex and switch to Private when they hit four or more bookings a week in the same studio type. If you can predict your schedule a month out — same days, same room, same client cadence — Private is more economical and gives you a setup of your own. If your week varies, Flex flexes with it.
Can I switch from Flex to Private later?
Yes — front desk handles the upgrade in person. We'll quote your room, walk you through the agreement, and credit your last 30 days of Flex bookings against your first month of Private if it's the same studio type. Most upgrades happen 2–6 months after a member joins Flex.
How does Private studio pricing work — why isn't it listed?
Private studios vary by type, view, and size — a window studio with harbor views is priced differently than an interior studio of the same square footage. We quote on inquiry so the price reflects the room, not a flat per-square-foot number. The starting rate is $1,250/mo and quotes are firm — no negotiation games.
What happens if I want to leave Private?
2 months notice, anytime in your annual term — no penalty, no early-exit fee. Most members give us 60 days because that's how long it takes to find the next member for the room; you're not locked in past that. Annual is the term we sign so we can plan the floor; it's not a trap.
Are there waitlists for Private?
For window studios, almost always — they open up periodically as members move on, typically with 60 days notice. Interior studios open faster, usually within weeks. Join the waitlist with your discipline and timing; we reach out when something matches.
Can a Private member also book Flex?
Yes — Private members get Flex pricing on any studio outside their own. Production day on The Stage, an extra Hair chair for an event, additional studio time across categories — all bookable at member rates. The full floor is yours.
What's the difference between Flex Pack and Private?
A 20-hr Pack is banked hours at the same studio type, redeemable for 60 days, saving 20% vs hourly. Private is a flat monthly rate for one specific studio. Pack is for occasional power users who book the same studio type often; Private is for people who run their entire practice from a single room.
